Here's a recent piece of music. The song is very melancholy with just piano, cello and strings. Think of a rain day...
The song started as an improvised piano piece and then was "orchestrated" after the fact by splitting off bits of midi information and assigning different instruments to it. The bass notes became a cello and the high notes became strings while the piano part remained untouched.
I didn't realize it when I put it together but I managed to lift a chorus from the Marillion song "Go!". Oh well, at least my song is free so please don't sue me!
