Woonsocket Opera House

The Woonsocket Opera House was located off Monument Square, just a short walk from the Stadium Theater. The Opera House was built in 1888 and was in active use as the New Park Theater until 1963. It was slated to be demolished in 1972 but a group of citizens tried to save the theater. Sadly, the Opera House was destroyed by fire on September 22, 1975, along with the adjoining Brown Carrol building.
